Tovino Thomas to play Villain in ‘Maari 2’
It is a dream start in Tamil movies for Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas. The latest news is that the actor, who is awaiting release of his debut Tamil movie ‘Abi & Anu’ has been roped in as villain for Tamil movie ‘Maari 2’ which stars Dhanush in the lead role.
The news was announced by the movie’s director Balaji Mohan through Twitter and was later shared by Tovino and Dhanush, who is also the producer of the movie.
On his twitter page, Tovino shared that he is “extremely excited to be part of ‘Maari 2’”. With ‘Maari 2’, Tovino becomes latest among the young breed of Malayalam actors who found their space in Tamil film industry. Previously young actors like Dulquer Salmaan and Fahad Faasil had grabbed interesting projects in Tamil.
It must be noted that Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films is also producing Tovino’s upcoming movies ‘Tharangam’ and ‘Maradona’ which is also the first production of the company in Malayalam. ‘Tharangam’ is Wunderbar Film’s first Malayalam production and the trailer and the song of the film is already a hit among the Malayalam film goers.
